Roche Bobois company celebrates the 50-years anniversary in collaboration with couturier Jean Paul Gaultier. Together they worked out the new collection of furniture which got the name Jean Paul Gaultier Pour Roche Bobois Paris.
The collection distinguishes with eclecticness inherent in most works of author. Various epochs, tendencies, images and orientations of design are mixed in it.
One of the brightest models from series Jean Paul Gaultier Pour Roche Bobois Paris is “hackneyed” for Roche Bobois modular system of sittings Mah Jong which designer Hans Hopfer thought out in 1971. This endless sofa forms of pillows of sitting, back and corner elements. It was already sold in upholsteries by fashionable houses Missoni and Kenzo and now Gaultier “wore” it. Several thematic upholsteries a la carte are affordable – for example, the brand “striped vest” of Gaultier, fantastic money notes, tattoos.
Besides that in Gaultier collection for Roche Bobois new original furniture appeared – double bed with head-screen, mobile wardrobe, armchairs on “industrial” castors “Ben Hur”, chests looking like the suitcases of different size put one on another. Some of the articles will have only limited edition.
To maintain the appearance of new collection the creative tandem took part in the annual project of Elle Decoration magazine. Jean Paul Gaultier together with Roche Bobois created interior for apartments Elle Decoration situated on the upper floor of Shayo Palace in Paris. The hall is worn in sea stripe (the textile covers not only walls and floor but also furniture and lightings), central room looks like jungles and boudoir distinguishes with plenty of silk drapes in peach shades.
New collection by Jean Paul Gaultier and Roche Bobois will come into the market in autumn 2010.
